– New York City Mayor, Mike Bloomberg, as quoted in the Village Voice on how New York City libraries, including Queens Library at Flushing, helped connect 35,000 New Yorkers to employment opportunities in 2011. (via queenslibrary)

500 Tasty Sandwiches: Self-Guided Flushing Food... →
500sandwiches:
This Saturday I went on a self-guided food tour of Flushing, Queens. Flushing, the most diverse area of NYC is also where foodies in the know go to experience delicious flavors you just can’t find in Manhattan. Here are some highlights from my trip.

Han Kou Steaks & Appetizers, Go now while you can!
reasonablenycfoodie:
First off, I apologize for my long absence. Life is kind of biting me in the ass and I’ve been losing motivation. AS you noticed, I have reblogged a post from Queensisawesome regarding the Flushing Mall. While it lacks many of the defining characteristics of a Flushing mall, it’s a welcome alternative to shopping in Rego Park. Additionally, SkyView Center is home to what is slowly becoming one of my favorite Asian groceries in Queens: SkyFoods.

Flushing Malls: Queens Crossing
queensisawesome:
Over the past 10 years, the mall scene in Flushing has grown and flourished. Next to the Mets and amazing and cheap street food on the list of things to do in Flushing, add unique malls. Over the next few days, I will cover three new relatively new malls in the neighborhood and briefly revisit some of the older shopping centers.
Disclaimer: I am not the perfect mall guide. To...
